Maryland Renaissance Festival 2025
The Maryland Renaissance Festival is a large immersive outdoor festival held in the fictional 16th-century village of Revel Grove, where visitors experience live jousting, music, comedy shows, artisans, costumed performers, themed food, and interactive entertainment inspired by Renaissance-era England. The festival runs on weekends from late August through October in Crownsville, Maryland.

From pastries and roasted meats to the festival’s well-known turkey legs, the food contributed to the lively atmosphere and sense of tradition throughout the grounds. Visitors could also find themed drinks, fresh baked goods, giant pickles, steak on a stake, and other festival staples.
The jousting tournaments and arena performances became some of the most energetic parts of the Maryland Renaissance Festival, drawing large crowds throughout the day. Knights in full armor charged across the arena on horseback while audiences cheered from the surrounding stands. Other performances throughout the arena included falconry demonstrations, where trained hawks flew low across the grounds and interacted with performers in front of the crowd.

ARTISCANS, MUSICIANS, STREET PERFORMERS
The artisans, musicians, venders, and street performers contributed to the lively, immersive feeling that defines the Maryland Renaissance Festival. Handmade crafts, jewelry, pottery, and other goods lined the walkways while musicians performed, bubbles drifted, and visitors stopped at booths for braided hair, handmade accessories, and other festival traditions
Costumes played a major role in shaping the immersive atmosphere of the Maryland Renaissance Festival, with both performers and guests contributing to the feeling of stepping into another world. Many visitors arrived in elaborate outfits ranging from historically inspired clothing to fantasy-inspired characters, helping transform Revel Grove into a shared visual experience.
